Sunday Fishing

Sunday Fishing
5 x 7
oil on canvas

Available for purchase at my etsy shop!

I always feel a little weird doing these little baby paintings, but I am going to be doing more of them to try and stock up my etsy shop. I'm just used to working on a slightly bigger scale, but I do enjoy working quickly and being able to try anything in a small size instead of the commitment of a large painting. Don't worry though, I will still be painting larger paintings :)

Boating in Minnesota

Boating in Minnesota
18 x 20
oil on canvas

Sold

I worked in the flower shop today, so I didn't have a chance to paint something new. Thought I would post an older painting. This was a commission a few years back. I'm off tomorrow so I can finish up the painting I'm currently working on and have something new to post!

Boys on the Lake, watercolor

Boys on the Lake
5 x 7
watercolor

For purchase information click here.

Here is a watercolor version of the oil I did last year.  I ended up selling that oil and love the image so much that I had to revisit it.  I loved painting the water.  Sitting on a boat on a warm day in Colorado sounds nice right now.  Current temperature: -14

Figures in a Landscape

On the Lake
18 x 24
Oil on Canvas

Sold

This painting was one of my first "figure in landscape" paintings. I really enjoy painting people within a landscape painting. I think it is interesting that as viewers we immediately relate somehow to a painting. With a landscape painting, one remembers a place or a time that may be similar to the image he or she is viewing. A figure in a landscape is an additional element that invites the viewer to create a story or interpret the emotion of the moment. I would love to continue to do paintings that invite the viewer step into the moment in front of them.
